iPhone

Amplify for iPhone is in TestFlight: your day, habits, the assistant, journal, and Screen Time focus blocking on the phone. Your invite email has the TestFlight link. Lost it? Email us.

  1. Install TestFlight, then Amplify from the link in your invite
  2. Sign in with the code Amplify emails you
  3. Allow Screen Time when asked, then pick the apps to block during work blocks
  4. In Settings › Notifications › Amplify, turn on Time Sensitive. Without it, a Focus holds your nudges silently

After downloading

  1. Open the download

    Open the .dmg file and drag Amplify Screen Blocking to Applications.

  2. Open Amplify Screen Blocking

    Open it from Applications and click Open when macOS asks. That's the only prompt at install.

  3. Find it in the menu bar

    The Amplify icon sits in the menu bar at the top of your screen. There's no Dock icon and no calendar window: the Mac app runs your blocking, and your calendar stays on the web.

  4. Sign in

    Your browser opens. Sign in with the same account you use on the web.

  5. Allow blocking once

    The first time a block starts, macOS asks for your admin password. Blocking needs it, and it asks only once.

  6. Work blocks tell you

    When a work block starts, a small Amplify card tells you. It shows even when a Focus is on.

Optional: the Amplify screen in your browser

Blocked sites already stop loading. With this on, your browser shows Amplify's block screen instead of an error page.

  • Safari: click the Amplify icon in the menu bar, choose Show the Amplify screen in Safari…, then turn on Amplify in Safari › Settings › Extensions
  • Chrome, Arc, Brave or Edge: choose Show the Amplify screen in Chrome… from the menu-bar icon. On the page that opens, turn on Developer mode, click Load unpacked, and pick the folder Amplify shows you
